Setting up a quiz

How do I create a quiz?

To create a quiz you need to:

1. Log in to your myQuiz account, using this link.

To create myQuiz account please click here.

2. Go to My Quizzes section and click Create a quiz.

What code should I enter to play the quiz?

To join the quiz you need to enter the numerical code provided by your quiz host. Please contact your quiz host to get the code or any other instructions.

How do you make the players press two answers?

Once you have included at least more than one correct answer in one of your questions, the confirm button for each question will automatically be added for players in this quiz.

Can I pause a quiz? Controls during the game.

The quiz can be paused by a host using the pause button in the right upper corner on the play screen.

The running quiz has the following controls available for a host, located in the right upper corner of the play screen:

- Pause will freeze the game, disabling timer and any players’ activity;

- Stop will cancel the running quiz, as well as waiting for players screen;

- Next, it is a paid feature and will skip the remaining timer for the current question while switching to the next question.

Can you create questions with open answers? Types of questions.

Switching between different types of questions is a paid feature in myQuiz. Please visit our Pricing page.

To select the desired type of question, go to the Editor -> Questions section and +Question button.

There are the following types of questions in myQuiz:

- Multiple choice question (included in the Free plan);

- Open-ended question (for text input);

- Polling (to gather players’ opinions);

- Pictures (for images as answers, there’s also text fields that can be utilized if needed).

Is there any way to rearrange the order of my questions?

The following are paid features

Show questions in random order will be applied the same for all players.

Show answer options in random order will arrange answers for each player individually.

To manually change the order of the questions please do the following:

1. Go to the Editor -> Questions section;

2. Hold down the left mouse button on the hand icon in the right corner of the question title which you would like to move;

3. Without releasing the mouse drag it to the desired position of the list until you will see that the question is in the right position;

4. Release the left mouse button, this will complete the movement;

5. Repeat steps 1-4 for the other questions that you’d like to rearrange.

When creating a quiz, can I add a link to a YouTube stream?

Enabling Live Streaming for Youtube or Twitch is a paid feature link. Check with the streaming service if embedding is switched on.

Quiz editor: saving and restoring

I had set up quiz questions earlier but cannot find them.

In case you accidentally modified your quiz you can try to restore the previous version.

This feature works for the same device and the same browser only, the one that you had made those changes on (i.e. you won’t be able to roll back if, for example, your quiz was modified by someone from your team on their device).

To restore your quiz follow these steps:

1. Navigate to My Quizzes page;

2. Find a quiz (by theme or code) that you’d like to restore;

3. Click on dots menu;

4. Select View drafts;

5. Select correct draft (by clicking you will be redirected to editor view);

6. If everything is right, click "Restore", otherwise choose “cancel”, redirect yourself to another draft, and repeat the steps.

I cannot save my quiz, "Error saving" message appears.

Check the following on both pages of the Quiz editor:

1. Check if all required fields marked as (*) are filled out.

2. Check the Question section of the Quiz Editor for any red-colored warnings. Keep in mind that each question must have at least one incorrect and correct answer.

I edited the quiz, the changes are not saved.

To display the changes in a quiz correctly, you need to restart the quiz:

1. Go to the My Quizzes menu and click on the “Waiting for players” or “Quiz in play” status of a quiz you’d like to restart.

2. On the play screen or waiting for players screen click Stop.

3. On the My Quizzes page, click Launch Waiting Screen again to start the quiz with the latest changes.

Is it possible to export the quiz to a file (PDF or similar)?

After the quiz is finished you can have the Quiz Report, which will include most of the data about your quiz.

To do that please do the following:

1. After your quiz is finished go to Archive;

2. Look for the required quiz (the last quiz will be on top of the list);

3. Click the gear icon and select Quiz Report in preferable format (.pdf or .csv);

4. It will take a moment to prepare, click download.

Can we merge two quizzes ?

Currently, the merging of quizzes is not a supported feature.

Is it possible to have background music in our quiz? Can I add music to a quiz?

Can I add music to a particular question?

You can include custom music for a question via adding a youtube video. You can also enable autoplay, and set a segment of the video.

How is the quiz winner determined?

The number of correct answers as well as the speed are key factors for winning with myQuiz.

Can I give players bonus points for ansewring quickest? Is there a way to customize the points' settings?

Participants and accessing the quiz

How many people can play in myQuiz?

Please visit our Pricing page for the up-to-date information on the supported capacities of the event.

Сan players join the quiz without registration?

There’s an option to join the game with a chosen nickname. In this case, a myQuiz account is not required.

Can players join the game after the quiz started?

Players can join the running quiz at any moment. They will start the current question with the time remaining. Questions missed will not be scored.

Is it possible to create a quiz so that it is played only by the people I need (i.e my colleagues)?

To limit access to a quiz use the following options of paid plans link, both or separately:

- Restrict quiz access by email will require you to upload a list of emails allowed to participate. Also, please make sure that either “Limit user registration types” is disabled, or at least the “myQuiz Account” suboption is enabled.

- Or Restrict quiz access by a secret code and you’ll have to share a defined secret word with your players.

Why is it that when I share a quiz with my friends, they have access to edit it and answer it? Options for distributing a quiz to a remote party.

If you’d like to add participants to your quiz you need to use the "Invite to the quiz" option.

The following are different options in the Quiz menu:

- Invite to the quiz creates a link to your quiz for participants’ access only (no editing will be possible via this link, just the game start from the waiting screen).

- Share allows you to send a link to another person (or a group) that will create a copy of your quiz in their account. They should have myQuiz account, or else they will be requested to create one.

- Share virtual copy allows you to send a link to another person (or a group) that will create a copy of your quiz in their account WITHOUT the ability to change the Question section of the copied quiz. They will be able to change the Quiz info section. They should have a myQuiz account, or else they will be requested to create one.

- Duplicate creates an editable copy of the selected quiz for you.

Can I create a QR-code for a quiz?

To attach a link for a quiz to QR-code please do the following:

1. Create a link to your quiz: My Quizzes section -> dots menu on a selected quiz -> Invite to the quiz. Copy the link

2. Go to QR-code generator, like https://www.qr-code-generator.com;

3. Switch to URL option. Paste the link in the ‘enter your website’ field;

4. Download the JPEG with QR-code;

5. Share this image with your players via preferable means.

Account Settings and Managing Subscription

Does your subscription automatically renew? How can I see the payment date?

Your subscription renews automatically after a 30-day term (monthly) or 12-month (annually).

For the status of your current subscription and the date of the scheduled payment, please visit the My Profile menu –> Plan.

If you cancel your subscription you will stay on your currently selected plan until the end of the term which was started with the date of your last payment.

How can I edit my account settings?

For account settings please visit My Profile section.

To make changes to your payment details please send us your request to support@myquiz.org, using the email address of your actual myQuiz account.

How can I cancel myQuiz subscription?

To cancel your subscription please follow these steps:

Go to My Profile –> click on the ‘Plan’ (this will also bring up the next payment date) –> click ‘Unsubscribe’ to cancel future payments.

Once your subscription is canceled, it will not be renewed after the end of the current paid term. You’ll be switched to the Basic Free plan at the end of the term.

How can I delete myQuiz account?

To delete your account please send us your request to support@myquiz.org, using the email address of your actual myQuiz account.

How do I create a corporate account?

Currently, corporate accounts are not supported in myQuiz.

Please keep in mind, that our service helps you to define a single moderator of your account with access to subscription management.

I can access my account via a laptop, yet when I try on my mobile phone, it says my email address is invalid.

To restore your access to myQuiz account please do the following:

1. Ensure that you have input correct login information by verifying your username and password (for example, please check that there are no leading or trailing spaces in the email address, etc.);

2. You can always try the "Forgot password" option;

3. If still not resolved, please send your request to support@myquiz.org, using the email address of your actual myQuiz account.
